Rob and I went to Whitstable today. We had our 9am appointment at the Chaucer in Canterbury and so had to get up at the crack of dawn to get there. But by 9.30am we were out and looked on the map and there it was! The sea! It was a really nice day too, not too sunny but nice and warm with a lovely strong sea breeze so we walked all along the front from Whitstable along Tankerton bay past all the jolly little painted beach huts and back. I've been saying that we should go to Whitstable ever since we moved further out into Kent but we've never yet got around to it and it's never been 'near' anywhere else we were going so we never managed to pop in on the way. But we finally made it and it was worth it, it's very quaint and rather nice. It was so relaxing to walk along the sea-front and so nice to do something so different on my day off. We talked loads, held hands loads and laughed loads at some of the beach hut names. Then we got back into Whitstable centre at around midday and so had lunch outside in the sunshine. Happy days!
