Auld Lang Syne

We got given pen-holding clocks at work today. Our company recently got awarded 'Investor in People' for the second time in a few years and so to celebrate we all got these electronic clocks which have the company and Investor in People' logos on. The funny thing was that you had to pull a piece of plastic out of the battery compartment to fire them up and as soon as you did, the clock alarm went off which was a loud electronic version of 'Auld Lang Syne' - which you couldn't turn off and so had to let finish. It was hilarious - it was all you could hear for most of the afternoon as people in turn got back to their desks and started setting up their clocks. And then to set the time and date you had to press loads of buttons which beeped every time you pressed them. So it was BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! and 'SHOULD AULD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT..' all afternoon. You have to laugh - from the sound of it there wasn't much work going on after lunch ha ha.

Annoyingly it then stuck in my head so I was singing Auld Lang Syne with every step all the way home!
