Celtic Adventures

Sarah, Rob and PeteRob and I spent Saturday and Sunday in Cardiff with his uncle Pete and friend Glyn. It was the EDF Cup semi-finals at the Millennium stadium and as Rob is Wasps, Pete is Sarries and Glyn is anything Welsh playing anything English it promised to be a really good weekend! We had booked into a hotel for the night so that we could have a few bevvies and a nice meal out after the game and it was such a fun day. It was blooming freezing!!! All the weather reports were giving snow warnings for Easter and so we left England in sleet and grey clouds and winds and arrived in Cardiff to blue skies and sunshine. However the wind was still there and it was clear and freezing - brrrrrhhhh!!!

The first semi was Wasps vs Leicester so of course we were all shouting for Wasps - but they couldn't quite do it this year and lost - doh!

And then the second semi was Saracens vs Ospreys so Pete, Rob and I were shouting for Sarries and Glyn for Ospreys. The Ospreys team are mostly the Welsh team who won the Six Nations last week so rather unsurprisingly they won!

We then had a few drinks in Cardiff and then went to a lovely Italian restaurant and stuffed ourselves before going back to the hotel for a night cap and to bed. It was a really nice weekend and I always forget how easy it is to go away for a couple of days - even with a 3.5 hour drive, it's pretty easy! It felt a little strange to be away from the family at Easter as we nearly always go to my mums but it was lovely.
