This weekend has officially been the hottest October weekend for 100 years!! It's been gorgeous scorchio and so we BBQ'ed today - the first ever October BBQ for us. It was lovely. The sun has been really warm even though it's low in the sky and there are long shadows. It's quite bizarre to see the trees turning gold and red and berries on the bushes and to be sitting in the garden in our shorts. This evening was glorious, it got dark quite early but Rob and I sat on the patio and watched it get dark. The sky was completely clear and as the sun dipped down the birds were settling down for the night and singing their dusk chorus. It was peaceful and relaxing and really pleasant to sit there in silence and listen to nature around us. Shortly before we began to clear things away we could hear the rustle of the frogs as they slowly shifted on the rockery.
What a lovely day.
