Euro Champs

Friday was a good day. The day before, Thursday, was Nan Ball's funeral which went well and although it was nice to see all the family, it was of course a sad day. Rob got really upset when it was time to leave Nan's flat after the do in the hall downstairs as it would be the last time we would be there, so it was a tough day.

Friday however was a much happier day and that was because it was Euro Challenge Cup Final Day and Saints were taking on Bourgoin at The Stoop in Twickenham. I had the day off and so Rob and I were able to go up to London in plenty of time and had such a laugh at the Cabbage Patch where it seemed we were the odd-ones out amongst the French fans! It was such fun, they were full of songs and fun and flag-waving and blowing horns - everything you could ask for in a Euro-Cup build-up. Mum, Dad and Rich met us there and we proceeded up to the Stoop for some food and then to watch the match.

Rich, Dad, Mum and Me before the game.
It was a brilliant atmosphere and Saints didn't let us down and won 15-3 so we now have a bright new shiny trophy in our cabinet. Not only that but we have a place in the Heineken Cup next year which is the main Euro competition. Not bad for a team who were playing in Division 1 last season. Long may it continue!!

YAY! Saints ECC Cup Winners 2009 - WOOP! WOOP!
