Last time I updated my blog with news on my sister-in-law it was very positive as the tumour had shrunk a lot. Over the last six months, S has had no actual treatment as they waited for the chemo and radio to do the job and attack the cancer and this all seemed to be working pretty well from the scans and things. But she's still been really poorly, it seemed to be one thing after another with a stent making a hole through her tube into her lungs which got infected and then made her sick so that she had to have it replaced a few times. And the infection in her lungs made her ill and she was rushed into hospital a few times, once on a blue light as they thought she was having a heart attack.
Two weeks ago, she had a bad cough and went to the doctors to be told she had pneumonia. Two days later she was in hospital in a critical condition, so much so that they rushed to get the kids from school to go to the hospital as they thought that she wouldn't last the day. It was a very scary time, to go from a shaky normality to critically ill in a matter of a day. Thankfully S has fought through and is still with us but our reality has been turned on its head. We really have no idea what the battle ahead for S is or what she will have to face. For now she is still in hospital and God willing will be allowed to come home soon.
